About Us
Roland Filbrun began developing night vision equipment following a career ending brain injury. He quickly gained a following on his YouTube Channel and several forums including The Yellow and Night Vision Forum UK.
RNV began as a company in January of 2015 after many years of research, development, and field testing.
Demand quickly exceeded his bandwidth and the company began to take shape at the hands of Kidron Filbrun, Kevin Bridgman, and Drew Bidlen, three engineering students at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. The company is still young, and is growing quickly due to the abilities of its founders.
Kidron
Kidron Filbrun is a junior computer science student at Cedarville University. Most of his time is spent working with the customers to understand how best to meet their needs. Kidron's background includes both software development and manufacturing, both of which he is using for RNV. He spent the Summer of 2015 working with thermal cameras and image processing at an Air Force research facility. Kidron enjoys hunting with his father, Roland, as well as three-position competition rifle shooting.
Kevin
Kevin Bridgman is a junior electrical engineering student at Cedarville University. He is in charge of supply and purchasing for RNV. Kevin has spent the last two summers as a co-op at Honda R&D working on electronic controls and devices. Currently he is a part-time defense contractor in the Photonic Materials Branch for the Air Force Research Laboratory. Before becoming a student at Cedarville University Kevin served in the United States Marine Corps where he deployed to Afghanistan twice. Now he enjoys time at the gym, learning about engineering and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
Drew
Drew Bidlen is a junior electrical engineering student at Cedarville University. He is focusing on the business side of running the company, along with putting his major to work through research and development. Drew spent the Summer of 2015 interning in the robotics division of Cub Cadet, where he worked on developing an autonomous lawnmower. Outside of electrical engineering, Drew enjoys playing doubles beach volleyball tournaments, algorithmic stock trading, and spending time with friends and family.
We love where we're going at RNV, and can't wait to see what the future holds!
